L3 Internal Family Systems Practitioner
L3 Internal Family Systems Practitioner | Co-Founder of the Global Trauma Institute | President of PATH
Interested? For over 30 years, I’ve dedicated my career to providing training and education while working closely with educational, faith-based, and community organizations to uplift and support diverse populations. With a deep passion for making healing more culturally sensitive, relevant, and accessible to the global majority, I’m often invited to speak and lead trainings, creating brave, open-hearted spaces where people feel seen and less alone.
As the co-founder of the Global Trauma Institute, a healing justice organization, I’m committed to raising awareness about the wide-ranging impacts of trauma and training others to respond with compassion and cultural sensitivity. I also serve as the President of PATH, an international community dedicated to supporting individuals facing addiction and the trauma that often underlies it. Additionally, I co-host the Courageous Custody podcast, where I explore navigating high-conflict custody battles through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I’m a Level 3 trained IFS practitioner and offer one-on-one coaching and consulting through my practice, Achara Tarfa Coaching & Consulting. I support trauma survivors on their unburdening journeys using tools such as Internal Family Systems, Mindful Self-Compassion, and other trauma recovery approaches. My specialties include psychedelic preparation and integration, self-abandonment, relational trauma, and complex PTSD. I also consult with professionals across disciplines—including social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, and education—on trauma-informed practice.
In addition to my clinical and consulting work, I serve as an elected District Supervisor, where I apply a trauma-informed lens to policy and community advocacy. Whether I’m working with individuals, communities, or institutions, my mission remains the same: to support healing, cultivate resilience, and foster environments where people can thrive.
