Many leaders find themselves caught in the high-achiever trap: overworking, over-functioning, people-pleasing, managing every detail, and suppressing emotion in the name of “professionalism.” As Brené Brown mentions: “There are some very universal pieces of armor that we all wear: foreboding joy, perfectionism, and numbing.” The cost of this is often invisible but cumulative: fatigue, disconnection, and ultimately, a loss of joy and meaning in the work.
In this reflective and practical workshop, we will explore a more sustainable model of leadership: one that honours your deep care and professionalism without sacrificing your wellbeing.
Drawing on lived experiences, leadership coaching, and neuroscience, you will
- get to know your armour
- understand what the costs are of using your armour
- gain tools to lead authentically and sustainably.
We’ll explore how authentic, emotionally present leadership supports not only our own health, but also the trust, creativity and sustainability of the communities we lead, because we cannot lead others effectively for the long haul unless we remain connected to ourselves.
